Description: Sr Online Project Manager
A Senior Online Project Manager is required to join our client’s Korean based team. You will be working closely with the all internal and external developers and operators to ensure the online development meets budget, scheduling and game quality goals.
Role Overview:
Communication
•Understand development, operations, and publishing dependencies of an online project and ensure all necessary individuals are informed and involved from the outset of the project, throughout the development cycle and into a live support environment.
•Facilitate high quality communication and diplomacy between the development team, internal teams, and external operations teams ensuring effective communication networks are in place.
•Present milestone status updates, scheduling, budget and product review presentations to executive leadership teams for internal review.
Project Management
•Work with Project Managers to develop and execute project development plans.
•Oversee management of development budgets and timelines & task schedules accordingly.
•Ensure all project documentation is kept up to date and communicated to the relevant stakeholders on a timely basis.
•Effectively manage risk by identifying roadblocks and work with respective teams to mitigate early.
Project Budgets and Financials
•Ensure the scope, schedule and costs of the projects are reasonable and achievable.
•Ensure appropriate approvals are completed with internal and external parties.
•Generate and manage project budgets and forecasts, updating applicable staff as appropriate and reporting variances to leadership teams as appropriate.
•Manage department operational expenses as required.
Creative Quality Management
•Work closely with development team members to ensure the project vision and goals are maintained and executed from concept, through to development, launch and commercial service including live development.
•Work closely with Operations to capture customer service feedback and ensure development team members make the necessary changes in game to meet the needs of the customers.
Publishing/ Operations Integration
•Work closely with operations/publishing personnel to gather feedback on customer issues and resulting impact on time, quality and cost and deliver a consolidated voice to the development teams to determine appropriate next steps.
•Work closely with operations/publishing to determine effective monetization strategies, including content changes etc.
•Communicate development timelines, project schedules, content additions and other game additions to the operations/publishing team.
Staff Management
•Co-ordinate, track and manage the activities of all staff to ensure that project tasks are completed on time, on quality and on budget.
•Provide motivation and direction to ensure that project goals, objectives, milestones and deliverables are achieved.
•Review organizational structures to ensure consistency with the dynamics of the changing markets and required personnel competencies.
•Continue to identify and invest in key personnel and expand on company endorsed training programs in line with future growth.
•Provide effective supervision, including effective coaching and mentoring and review of performance as required.
Competencies, Qualifications, Experience and Key Attributes
•Ability to speak, read and write well in English and Korean.
•Shipped several high quality online games in a senior production role
•MMO and online gaming enthusiast.
•Demonstrated online gaming experience in a similar role (Project Management)
•Knowledge of games and game development methods, terms and procedures
•Experience in dealing with 3rd party licenses/partners (preferred).
•General awareness of programming languages and 3D modelling packages is preferred.
•Proven ability to network and build strong professional relationships.
•Knowledge of project management and financial reporting software.
•Strong commercial acumen and a thorough understanding of financial models and related workings.
•Excellent computer skills with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including an ability to present well in front of small and large groups of people and to Executive level.
•Demonstrated drive, passion and commitment to achieve results.
•Ability to communicate complex information clearly, both verbal and in written form
