Character Artist

Our client has an opportunity for a character artist to join their studio in Budapest. They are dedicated to the creation of high-quality video games for PC and next generation consoles. The company's goal is to provide gamers with an intuitive user interface, innovative exciting game play, and revolutionary atmospheric visuals.

Responsibilities:

•Creating in-game characters from scratch following a concept art or art direction by keeping in mind and following the technical requirements.

•Creating of textures (diffuse, normal map, specular, bump) needed to display a photorealistic human in game.

•Preparing game characters suitable for facial animation

Requirements:

•Game or Film Industry experience is strongly preferred

•Sample pictures or link to webpage, which shows sample work

•Good understanding of anatomy, and representing anatomy in topology

•Traditional Art background (including self education) is preferred

•Ability to create all textures needed for creating photorealistic looking humans

•Strong knowledge of human body structure and setup for facial animation

•Ability to create game ready assets, that work well within the given technical limitations

•Preferably strong knowledge of 3DS Max or Softimage|XSI and Adobe Photoshop

•Proficiency in Z-Brush is a huge advantage

•Consistently demonstrates an excellent sense for detail

•Must be able to adapt to new technologies

•Ability to creatively translate concepts, ideas into authentic characters

•Good English communication skills

•A very strong understanding of:

oTechnical of limitations of the engine

oEfficient lowpoly modeling and UV layout techniques

oAnatomy of human body
