Web Developer - PHP

An interactive entertainment development company based in Germany is dedicated to the creation of high-quality video games for PC and next generation consoles. Currently, they are in need of a Web Developer to join their studio to assist in producing innovative and exciting games.

Responsibilities

•Owns the development and customizing of one or more web development projects, from specification through design, coding, debugging, and deployment.

•Works closely with Operations to install, configure and operate developed features, as appropriate.

•Works with the Production, Design and Development teams to build a feature set.

•Works closely with QA engineers to ensure quality throughout the development cycle.

•Shares expertise and advises others in development of features across the project.

•Writes high quality, high performance code.

Requirements

•Strong knowledge of object-oriented (OO) methodology; able to architect and design new OO systems.

•Strong PHP5 programming skills.

•Excellent knowledge in SQL (MySQL), JavaScript, CSS, HTML

•Knowledge in CMS (preferred TYPO3)

•Knowledge about Zend Framework and tools.

•Profound experience in web-based architectures and technologies (AJAX, XML, SOAP, JSON).

•Understanding of Service-Oriented approach to development.

•Experience writing deployment and installation scripts for enterprise applications are desirable.

•Experience with version control system “Perforce”.

•Ability to thrive in a startup-like environment working with both on-site and remote teams.

•Motivated self-starter who likes working on very productive, fast-paced teams.

•Ability to skillfully navigate ambiguity in a dynamic environment.

•Ability to remain calm, poised, professional, and productive when under pressure.

•Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

•Education: B.S in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience

•Experience: 3+ years, particularly in Web2.0 technologies

Pluses

•Experience in additional languages and web tools (JAVA, Flash, C++, .NET)

•Experience with Linux server systems

•Experience with Photoshop

•Zend PHP5 Certification

•Experience in forum software development

•Experience with Atlassian products (Confluence, Jira)

•Experience in agile methodologies, especially SCRUM
