Consumer Data Analyst – Online Sports Games

Our client develops and publishes online social sports games both on the web and on facebook, currently with two games live on the web. Their strategy is to “Make Sports games Social” and is actively expanding their product portfolio to other sports and other social network platforms.

This is a pivotal role in the growth plans of the organization. The Consumer Data Analyst will provide real and direct tactical guidance to the current games and help shape future product strategy. It is vital to constantly adapt games to optimize the consumer experience -driving increased retention and monetization. A deep and comprehensive understanding of consumer behavior is a critical part of defining a compelling user experience and a sound business proposition – the success of their games depends on the quality of the analysis of user behavior and buying patterns.

The ideal candidate background would include a high level of data analysis in a fast moving consumer focused environment. The candidate is likely to come from an area such as Consulting, Finance or Statistical Analysis. Knowledge of database and/or statistical software would be a distinct advantage.

The role consists of analyzing and understanding consumer behavior and subsequently presenting conclusions that support and direct game design. This role will be a direct conduit between the consumers and the game development & marketing teams.

The Consumer Data Analyst will gather, analyse and present data on a wide and growing number of metrics, adding new metrics to the monitoring system when required. They will also present their analyses and proposals to the design team for inclusion in regular game iterations. Hourly, Daily, Weekly and Monthly Metrics will be tracked and reported and a rapid understanding of the effects of recent changes will be gained. Reports and analyses will be presented to Managers, Producers, Developers and Board Members with the right level of detail for each audience.

Candidate Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present analyses that provide meaningful insights on how we can improve engagement, retention and monetization across our games

• Work closely with product development & marketing to aid the design and delivery of new features & marketing campaigns

• Identify new and unexplored areas for improvement and experimentation through in-depth understanding of consumer behaviour

• Develop a wide view of games, features, and metrics to synthesize learnings from the greater social gaming space

Candidate skills:

• Superior analytical skills. Quickly understands business issues and data challenges of the online and social gaming industry.

• Data mining skills. Ability to identify, collect, organize and present relevant data.

• Excellent presentation and communication skills to deliver informative, well organized analyses and proposals to developers, producers and senior executives.

• Initiative to spot trends and rapidly formulate proposals.
