Description:

A leading publisher of original games is looking for a new Server Engineer to join their server development team. The team is responsible for developing the environment used in our client’s next generation social games. They are looking for an individual that is very much hands-on with programming and has a passion for developing games.

Primary responsibilities:

•Developing the server side components for highly scalable social multiplayer games using technologies like Java, MySQL and Hibernate.

•Working together with the game teams to implement new features and services for social games.

•Accurately provide technical level-of-effort and schedule estimates on short notice and with incomplete data.

An ideal candidate meets most of the following qualifications:

•Experience in server development using Java.

•Past projects that include live-deployed, highly scalable systems in production environments

•Experience of using Linux as the development and production platform.

•Understanding of schema design for both transactional and reporting databases.

•Experience with MySQL

•Experience with object-relational mapping technologies such as Hibernate is also desired.

•Understanding of networking technologies and protocols such as TCP, UDP, and HTTP at the byte and packet level.

•Experience with Amazon Web Services

•You can communicate effectively with non-technical personnel.

•Fluent spoken and written English is required to communicate successfully.
