Project Manager

Our client is the leading international provider of specialist services to the games and interactive entertainment industries. They are urgently seeking a Project Manager to join their Montreal based team.

In this role the Project Manager will work on a variety of localisation and quality assurance projects for the world’s leading games publishers and developers. The project management team’s client relation skills are essential to the success of the high quality service for which they are known.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of projects on time and on budget to the highest specified quality standards, as well as adherence to industry guidelines. Client facing responsibilities and communication with the in‐house or external teams are key elements of the job, as are internal budget control and financial reporting responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Project /Practice Management

• Executes defined project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements

• Manages resources planning

• Manages day‐to‐day operational aspects of a project and scope

• Reviews and polishes deliverables prepared by team before passing to client

• Effectively applies methodology and enforces project standards

• Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures

• Minimizes exposure and risk on project

• Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately

Project Accounting

• Tracks and validates team hours on a daily basis

• Manages project budget

• Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project

• Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices

• Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and realization

Client Management

• Manages day‐to‐day client interaction

• Sets and manages client expectations

• Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties

• Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions

• Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships

• Builds a knowledge base of each client's business, organization and objectives

Required Skills and Knowledge

Essential

• One year experience in Project Management

• Must possess ‘can‐do’ attitude

• Client‐facing and negotiation skills

• Ability to work effectively and decisively under pressure

• Ability to handle multiple projects and multiple project types concurrently

• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks

• Ability to prepare and control a work schedule and deliver to budget

• Ability to prepare, interpret, and effectively utilise management information reports

• Ability to analyse problems, recommend and implement effective solutions to difficult and politically sensitive problems

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Basic IT literacy, specifically: MS Office suite, Word, Excel,Outlook

Desirable

• Experience in an Account Management or sales‐oriented role

• Formal Project Management techniques or training

• Understanding of games development process

• Understanding of console software submission requirements and process

• Knowledge of bug tracking systems (Test Track Pro, DevTrack, or similar)

• Advanced skills with MS Excel

• Experience with MS Project
