Senior Audio Artist

Our client is seeking a Senior Audio Artist who has a deep passion for creating world class games to join their Canadian based studio on working on bestselling titles.

Primary Responsibilities:

• As a senior member of the team works with Audio Leads to design, create and implement in-game audio assets following creative and technical visions

• Ownership of various audio systems and directs audio team members in their use where necessary

• In-game implementation of all types of audio assets using proprietary tools and middleware solutions

• Creation of audio for cinematic sequences and marketing material

• Working with programmers to define technical requirements and specifications to facilitate creation of advanced audio systems that support the game vision

• Designing, creating, editing, and mixing original audio content in accordance with game project’s design goals

• Mentorship and leadership of Audio Artists

• Communication of audio design and vision to internal team and external content providers

• Large scale audio asset management

• Trouble shooting and debugging of game audio systems

Qualifications Include:

• A passion for games – especially RPG’s

• Minimum 5 years experience in creating audio for games including shipping at least two mid - large projects

• Exceptional sound design skills and strong technical audio vision

• Strong leadership skills

• Experience managing internal team members and external sound/music providers

• Experience creating audio pipelines on projects

• Ability to make high quality audio samples and process externally created music, VO, and SFX for in-game use

• Professional-level skills in digital audio editing and manipulation

• High degree of proficiency using professional audio software and hardware.

• Significant implementation experience and familiarity of audio middleware tools such as Wwise and FMOD

• Thorough understanding or microphone techniques, signal flow and recording practices

• Great communication and teamwork skills

• Strong attention to detail

• A drive to continually advance the art and science of game audio

Beneficial Qualities:

• Music composition, performance and recording experience

• Understanding of the software development process

• Knowledge of surround mixing techniques

• Field recording, Foley and dialog recording expertise

• Audio programming experience
