Mobile Technical Project Manager

Our client is currently working on Mobile Projects and needs a Technical Project Manager to join their team. Mobile Projects involve translation, porting, certification testing, localisation and/or functionality QA services. Our project management team’s client relation skills are essential to the success of the high quality service for which we are known.

The role of Technical Project Manager requires constant liaison between a variety of high-profile producers, project managers, carriers and developers in order to ensure the delivery of projects within a specified deadline and budget while seeking to apply the highest quality standards. Confident customer relations and excellent communication skills are essential.

The successful candidate will manage projects comprising one or more Mobile service lines. Execution of these projects may take place in any of the production facilities, and the customer may be located in Asia, Europe or North America. The Technical Project Manager coordinates internal delivery between all of the relevant departments whilst providing the sole interface with the client, and assumes responsibility for project budget control and project financial reporting.

Someone from a Telecoms/Mobile background is needed to hit the ground running in this challenging role. Confidence and enthusiasm are essential for this position in their busy and exciting company, as are team leadership qualities.

Key Responsibilities

•Global management of pre-production and production support to the business development team within the Mobile Division. The company provides certification test, porting, deployment and functional QA services to European and North American carrier standards including BREW.

•Pre-production technical analysis and preparation of production effort and quotes.

•Supply sales team with Ballpark estimates on costs and timelines

•Manage the delivery of Mobile projects for key clients.

•Responsibility for collating financial overview of Montréal Mobile projects

•Day to day management of projects, including liaison between clients/developers and internal or external teams

•Negotiation of project timelines with clients, and internal project scheduling

•Coordination with internal Support team to ensure most effective allocation of resources

•Maintenance of individual project budgets.

•Project analysis and preparation of quotes and purchase orders.

•Communication of work in progress reports (in-house and external).

•Briefing and debriefing on each project with internal QA team (QA Coordinator assigned to project).

•Ensure all correct operational assumptions are managed and feasible

•First point of contact for Mobile clients and developers

Required skills, knowledge and experience

Essential

•Must possess ‘can-do’ attitude

•5 years of Project Management experience ideally in a Telecoms environment.

•Telecoms development or testing knowledge.

•Client-facing and negotiation skills

•Line management, coaching and personnel development

•Ability to work effectively and decisively under pressure

•Ability to handle multiple projects and multiple project types concurrently

•Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks

•Ability to prepare and control a work schedule and deliver to budget

•Ability to prepare, interpret, and effectively utilise management information reports

•Ability to analyse problems, recommend and implement effective solutions to difficult and politically sensitive problems

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•Basic IT literacy, specifically: MS-Office suite, Word, Excel, Outlook

Desirable

•Formal Project Management techniques or training

•Relevant experience of telecoms testing environment either carrier or device level

•Knowledge of Carrier Certification Programs including BREW, Symbian & Java Verified

•Relevant experience of games or software localization and/or QA

•Knowledge of bug tracking systems (Test Track Pro, DevTrack, Bugzilla, Bug Tracker or similar)

•Experience with MS-Project

•Bilingual: French & English
